All three frameworks presented in this site were developed from Nos compétences fortes, published by the by Institut de coopération pour l’éducation des adultes (ICÉA). The project team also worked with frameworks and international initiatives, selected for their relevance and methodological rigor.

As part of its annual Back to School activities, the Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montreal produced in 2006 the document Keys to unlocking the job market: Evaluate your abilities, Analyse your personality. This guide is designed for young people, to help them enter the job market.

In Ireland, Youthreach is a training and workplace experience program for teenagers and young adults going back to school. The program allows them to explore career choices and get certification. The framework of generic skills (Soft skills Youthreach framework) developed by the program is made of 3 skills and 3 competencies, as well as tools to measure the distance travelled by learners.

The framework called Core Skills for Work Developmental was developed in Australia by the Ministry of Industry. Its purpose is to serve as the basis and reference for all the stakeholders and sectors involved in skills development.

The guide Learning with confidence, the Ontario Coalition for Adult Learning, is the adaptation for francophone minorities Learning with Swagger Project READ Literacy Network. This guide suggests ways to the assessment of generic skills described in the Literacy Curriculum Framework of Ontario adults (OALCF).
